Yosemite High School Band Camp 2015 (Day 8) August 5, 2015 at 09:00 AM

Hello all, sorry that I wasn't able to make it today, but based on what I heard, it was a great day!

Today was Super Hero day. And we (except me) finished the first movement, and then touched up on a few things. 

Then we broke for lunch. 

Then the sectionals turned out good, and Joe Ekman took over the trumpet section for the sectionals. We all worked on peace maker and got a new song that you all will eventually hear. 

I will see you all tomorrow!

Yosemite High School Band Camp 2015 (Day 7) August 4, 2015 at 09:00 AM

Band camp week 2, Day 2!! Today, some of the early "badgers" (birds) came to catch the fun! We were having fun dancing! 

Today was "College Day" I liked Joe's Shirt!

Way to go equipment crew (Kelsey, Cristian, and Aubree are not pictured)!!

 We did some regular drills, and then almost finished the first movement!

Good job color guard!

We ended the day with a fun game of Ninja!

Sorry I can't make It tomorrow guys! Ill be there thursday! See you all then!

Yosemite High School Band Camp 2015 (Day 6) August 3, 2015 at 09:00 AM

Welcome To Band Camp Week 2!! Today we mainly focused on pivots, and touching up the first movement of our field show!

Today was "USA Day"

 During lunch, we all had some... well.....Fun! But I think that Geep was having the best time!

 Then, we broke off into sectionals, and we got our new march! I'm not sure if i'm allowed to tell or not, so ill stay quiet... or "Peace"-ful.

Anyways... Percussion is doing well!

So are the Mallets! Great progress guys! 

Hey there woodwinds! Great job! By the way, why does Jamie like these "Romantic" lights?

 Great Job Brass! Isn't Joe SOO excited??! Now Christian on the other hand... well... lets move on...

 Way to multitask Joe!!

We got to hear the Drum Lines' Cadences for the first time! They did a great job, but it needs some touch-up work.

Afterwards, we closed off the day by playing a game called "Viking"!

Yosemite High School Band Camp 2015 (Day 5) July 31, 2015 at 09:00 AM

The end of week 1 of band camp!! It was a long week, and we're hoping to work on our drill in the morning next week if the smoke clears up. 

We celebrated at the end with a water balloon fight!! It was great (even though I didn't participate)

It was a productive week, and we are all looking forward to next week! See you all on Monday!

Band Camp Day 4!! Today was a fun day! It was also Disney Day! But it was very hot! The smoke was just as bad as yesterday, so we did sectionals first...

Thank you Hunter Murphy (Alumni) for helping out the bass line!

After sectionals and lunch, we played a game called freeze. It was fun, but quite interesting at the same time.

We had a great day, and got to set 11 (we finished 10 sets). Sorry that I didn't take a lot of pictures. Ill take more tomorrow!! See you all then!

Yosemite High School Band Camp 2015 (Day 3) July 29, 2015 at 09:00 AM

Band camp day 3 turned out better than we expected!!

We started out a little bit differently today. Due to the smoke from the fire, we decided to do our daily sectionals. We worked on touching up our first movement for our field show, as well as trying to memorize most of it. We then practiced (in our separate sections) the star spangled banner.

Next, we had lunch, and then the equipment crew took stuff down to the field. Unfortunately, the lines that were made for us the day before were gone. :( So we used number markers.

We then taught everyone how to read drill sheets, and marked our music.

Then we took off towards the field, and practiced the first four sets. (Keep in mind that our goal is to get AT LEAST the first 4 sets completed by the end of the day!

And now... for an exciting announcement!!!! We not only completed the first 4 sets, but we completed...........the first 7 sets!! We then moved on to playing our instruments at the same time we did the 7 drill sets, which was exciting. Unfortunately it was so hot outside, so our instruments were really sharp!

A big thank you to the band moms for bringing us water, and Gatorade to drink during breaks!! You are greatly appreciated!!

We ALL are looking forward to tomorrow, and we are going to have a blast! 

Band members... Don't forget that tomorrow is Disney day!! And be sure to bring PLENTY of water!! Don't forget your sunscreen!! See you all tomorrow!
